I believe all good things must come to an end.

And so, this blog comes to an end today. I started here 365 days ago on June 11, 2010. At first I set out to post an original thought each day, but soon the task became overwhelming. So much of what is here is attributed to those far more thoughtful and eloquent than I.

Still, I agree with all that’s posted here.

What’s next for this project? I don’t know. I have thought about putting it in book form. I may yet. But for now, it’s time to conclude this portion of the journey.

Thanks for coming along.

I believe “Happy endings are still endings.”

~ Son of a Witch, by Novelist Gregory Maguire, Born on this Day in 1954

I believe “That government is not a necessary good but an unavoidable evil.”

~ Lyn Nofziger, Born on this Day in 1924 (d. 2006)

I believe “We are strong enough to stand tall tearlessly, we are brave enough to bend to cry, and we are sad enough to know that we must laugh again.”

~ Nikki Giovanni, Born on this Day in 1943
Spoken at the Convocation on April 17, 2007 following the April 16 shootings at Virginia Tech.

I believe 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

I believe “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”

~ Cyclist and Cancer survivor Lance Armstrong

Today is the 24th annual National Cancer Survivors Day.

I believe we should “”Strive for excellence, not perfection, because we don’t live in a perfect world.”

~ Joyce Meyer, Born on this Day in 1943

I believe “If you wait, all that happens is that you get older.”

~ Larry McMurtry, Born on this Day in 1936

The greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not our circumstances.

~ Martha Washington, First American first lady, Born on this Day in 1731 (d. 1802)

I believe “Hymns are companions for life travelers.”

Andy Griffith, Born on this Day in 1926
